Our Youth are our future and it is for this reason that Murphy’s Creek Adventures focus very heavily on Youth Development. We have developed specialised camp and day trip programs for children with high and low care needs catering for children with disabilities and those with challenging behaviours. Some of our modified adventure activities include our flying fox, achery program and abseiling.
At Risk Youth:
Our extensive background in social work and outdoor education has seen a very strong team develop a consistent approach towards all youth demographics. We specialise in ‘At Risk Youth programs’, where we set high expectations for every group and assist them to achieve those expectations. We teach ‘decision and consequence’, combat learnt helplessness and strip back the ‘cotton wool’ as we build resilience in young people.
We have safely engineered modifications to our adventure activities to suit a range of requirements of children with disabilities (wheel chairs included). These modifications are not only limited to our adventure activities, but also include our facilities - with disabled amenities, no stairs, easily accessible accommodation and pathways to all activities within the camp ground. Some of our modified adventure activities include our flying fox, abseiling, archery and medium ropes course.
Our past clients include Boystown, Commonwealth Carers, YCLC, Teen Challenge, Hannah’s House, Girls Guides, Boy Scouts, Army Cadets and RAAF Cadets.
